NFU re-vamps ‘model’ contracts for farm businesses
The NFU is to re-introduce its standard legal agreements for farmers to give them a sound legal framework for formalising farm business arrangements.
The model clauses are free to NFU members and are designed to cover a range of agricultural, horticultural and rural business arrangements from setting up a partnership to contracts for horse livery.
Model contracts for farm business tenancies, hiring farm machinery and fishing rights are expected to follow soon.
Last month the NFU and the NFUS unveiled its model milk contract, aimed at providing a benchmark for dairy farmers negotiating with milk buyers.
