Mole Valley Farmers continues to grow

Mole Valley Farmers has strengthened its presence outside the South West with the acquisition of the Buckinghamshire-based rural supplier, Cox & Robinson Farm and Country.

The deal was “strategically important” for Mole Valley as it complemented the co-op’s existing geography and would help develop the territory of CWG, which it bought last year, said Keith Ockenden, head of agriculture at Mole Valley Farmers.

“Our return to the Towcester area has been part of a longer term strategy combining the strengths of Cox & Robinson, CWG and Mole Valley Farmers and we feel sure that our renewed retail presence will help create a more competitive environment for the benefit of our customers.”

The co-op has 6,692 farmer shareholders and more than 22,000 country members with a current turnover of £315m. The Mole Valley Group now comprises nine Mole Valley retail stores in the South West, plus 19 SCATS Countrystores and 10 CWG Countrystores further afield.
