Meadow Foods ups milk price to 31.25p/litre
Meadow Foods is the latest processor to increase its milk price for June.
The company’s 550 producers will have their standard litre price increased by 1.25p/litre to 31.25p/litre from 1 June.
“This rise reflects the overall increase we have received back from the market and we are passing it back in full to our producers in our normal no nonsense way,” said executive chairman Simon Chantler.
“We are making sure our customers are fully aware of the tight milk supply situation and will continue to push for further increases.”
Belton Cheese increase
Belton Cheese will also increase its milk price by 1p/litre from 1 June.
The price rise applies to all of the company’s 85 farmer suppliers. The flagship standard litre price will be 30.05p/litre and the manufacturing standard litre price will be 31.21p/litre.
A company spokesperson said: “We are fully aware of the difficulties all our farmers have faced with feed costs coupled with lower production volumes. Belton are committed to helping our producers by investing in their milk field for the future.”
