Range of farm sizes for sale as summer market hots up
A flurry of recent activity in the land and farms market has seen the long-term low supply landscape start to improve.
After a couple of years of extremely restricted offerings – affected by Brexit uncertainty, the Covid-19 pandemic, and economic and political strain – agents say vendors are starting to regain their confidence in the market.
Here’s a selection of what’s on offer across England and Scotland.

Scottish Highlands
Be-Ach, near Oban on the Morvern peninsula overlooking Loch Linnhe and the Isle of Mull, is on the market with Galbraith for offers above £2.3m.
The 3,454-acre estate includes a mix of commercial and native woodland, peatland and upland grazing, as well as sporting and fishing rights.
There is also the opportunity to develop a house, with planning having been submitted.
Bare woodland
Woolley & Wallis is selling 100 acres of land at Lockerley, near Romsey in Hampshire.
The land is mainly Grade 3, which has been used to graze cattle, as well as a parcel of mixed native woodland.
It is guided at £1.1m and is available as a whole or in three lots.
Upland block
Near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, in the North Pennines area of outstanding natural beauty, youngsRPS has launched 502 acres of upland grassland, currently used for sheep grazing.
Guided at £875,000, the land at Rookhope comes with one steel-portal frame, general purpose building and is available as a whole or in two lots.
Alternative income potential
Forest Farm, near Benenden, Kent, in the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty, is on the market with BTF Partnership for £1.5m.
The holding comes with 82 acres of Grade 3 pasture land, a range of buildings, a three-bedroom house and two-bedroom annexe, both subject to an agricultural occupancy condition, and a cattery.
Coastal estate
Near Bude, Cornwall, DR Kivell has launched 201-acre Stanbury Manor with a guide of £4.25m.
It includes arable, grass, amenity and cliff land, traditional and modern buildings, a Grade II* listed five-bedroom house, a wind turbine, and direct access to a secluded beach.
Livestock farm
Carter Jonas is selling 152-acre West Barn Farm near Bath, Wiltshire, for £2.95m as a whole or in two lots.
A former dairy farm, the arable and grassland unit has been used most recently for rearing cattle, growing combinable crops and making hay.
It has a Grade II listed three-bedroom house, a four-bedroom bungalow subject to an agricultural occupancy condition, and plenty of buildings.
Redevelopment opportunity
Malthouse Farm, near Baughurst on the Berkshire/Hampshire border, is on the market with Carter Jonas for offers in excess of £1.75m.
Available as a whole or in four lots, the 75-acre holding comes with pasture and amenity woodland, a three-bedroom bungalow and farm buildings with redevelopment potential.
