Four county farm tenancies available in Yorkshire

Four parcels of land are available on farm business tenancy agreements with East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The areas available to rent cover a combined 260 acres, with a mixture of arable land and permanent pasture.

The properties are predominantly made up of Grade 2 and Grade 3 arable land. The ground is light and sandy, although heavier in places.

All four of the tenancies are due to begin on 11 October, with an application deadline of 1 September.

Successful bidders are required to pay a one-off fee of £800 towards the council’s costs for each of the tenancies.

The property has 94 acres of Grade 2 and Grade 3 land, available in two lots.

Most of the land is classified as arable land, cropping carrots, peas, and potatoes during 2021.

The plot also includes several acres of permanent pasture and nearly one acre of woodland.

The tenancy is offered on an initial fixed term for three years.

Two lots totalling 90 acres of arable land are available for a fixed term of two years.

The productive Grade 1 and 2 ground has previously been used for oilseed rape, winter wheat and spring barley.

About 17 acres of arable land is available near Eppleworth on a five-year farm business tenancy.

The land is currently fallow and is at an increased risk of flooding due to its location.

Hall Lane Farm, Whitgift

Near Whitgift, 58 acres of fallow land suitable for arable use is available to rent as two lots.

Both lots are available for a set period of five years.

When and how to apply

The closing date for offers to be submitted to the local council is 1 September.

Viewings of the arable land at Railways South Lagoon, Eppleworth, is by appointment only.

The other properties are available to view at any reasonable daylight hour with a set of the particulars in hand, provided no disturbance is caused to the existing tenants or to any growing crops.
