Contrasting large farms and smaller blocks come to market
One of the largest farms to come to the market in Cornwall for some time has just been launched.
Siblyback Farm lies on the edge of Bodmin Moor in a very private setting just above the well-known lake of the same name, near Liskeard.
The farm has 970 acres and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
In a ring fence with no public footpaths or other public access, the land is split between about 520 acres of quality grazing and cutting land in easily managed fields, and about 450 acres of other grazing land and small areas of woodland.

There are no environmental schemes on the holding, nor is it in a nitrate vulnerable zone.
It is described by selling agent D R Kivell Country Property as an outstanding farm in a stunning location, with great potential for a range of uses including livestock, carbon offset and holiday enterprises.
There is a substantial five bedroom stone house and a useful range of other buildings and livestock housing. Seven redundant dilapidated traditional stone barns have planning consent for conversion to 11 holiday letting units.
Siblyback Farm is on the market as a result of retirement, and is for sale as a whole with a guide price of £10m.
Dumfries and Galloway estate
In a similar price bracket, Logan Estate, near Stranraer in Wigtownshire, has has a nine-bedroom and nine-bathroom Queen Anne house dating from 1702.
With 1,158 acres of farmland and 270 acres of mixed woodlands and amenity plantations, there is about 1,637 acres in total, including extensive gardens.
The land supports arable and livestock enterprises and there are both traditional and modern farm buildings.
The ground is predominantly Class 3, capable of producing consistently good yields of cereal crops and potatoes at 10-65m above sea level.
The estate is currently farmed in-hand on a contract farming agreement, growing mainly winter and spring cereals, maize, potatoes and silage, with dairy heifers utilising the grass parks.
There are a further six residential properties including a period farmhouse, along with a range of traditional and modern farm buildings.
There are some small commercial lets including Logan Fish Pond, which is managed as a tourist attraction.

North Yorkshire arable

West Lothian property
Offers for 2 Blackfaulds Farm at Avonbridge, near Falkirk, Scotland, will close on 9 May.
