Malpas Tractors enters administration after loss of owner
Agricultural machinery dealership and parts distributor Malpas Tractors has gone into administration.
More than 40 members of staff have been made redundant as a result, although the business will continue to operate with a reduced workforce whilst a potential new buyer is sought.
The Wrexham-based business operates from several depots throughout north Wales and north-west England, stocking major brands including New Holland.

Malpas Tractors had a turnover of £42.4m in 2022 and made a profit before tax of £956,000.
In August this year, the company announced the death of its managing director, Paul Reeves.
A spokesperson for Malpas Tractors said: “Paul was a much-loved leader, son, and brother, and the loss is felt by friends, family and staff alike.”
Patrick Lannagan and Richard Hough of Forvis Mazars were appointed as joint administrators of Malpas Tractors (Wrexham) on 16 December.
Mr Hough said: “The company has experienced cash flow difficulties resulting from difficult trading conditions in the sector.
“These cash flow difficulties have led the directors to take the difficult decision to place the company into administration.
“The administrators are continuing to keep the financial position of the company under review, regrettably having had to make 43 redundancies today, with the business now operating with a reduced workforce whilst we explore any interest any potential buyers may have in the business.
All known creditors are due to be contacted by the administrators in the coming days.
The administrators have also encouraged anyone interested in acquiring the business or assets to email at malpastractors@mazars.co.uk for more information.
