The UK dairy industry faced one of the biggest shake-ups in years last week when Dairy Crest sold its dairies division to rival processor Muller Wiseman.

About 700 of Dairy Crest’s 1,050 farmers will be switched over to Muller as part of the £80m deal.

They’ve been assured their contracts are safe but while the competition authorities are still to approve the sale, plenty of questions remain.
