Cumbria farm suited to first-time tenant offered
A stock-rearing farm in Cumbria is being offered on a five-year farm business tenancy (FBT) and is said to be well suited to a first-time tenant.
Morton Sceugh Farm, near Southwaite between Carlisle and Penrith, comes with a recently renovated three-bedroom farmhouse and farm buildings.
The 73 acres of land are classified as Grade 3 and are split into seven fields, currently laid to grass.

The ring-fenced block of land is registered for the Basic Payment Scheme and the entitlements will be transferred to the successful tenant at no extra cost.
Viewings will be held on Tuesday 24 April between 10am and 3pm.
‘Robust plan’ needed
Letting agent Thomas Armstrong from H&H Land and Property said: “This is ideal for a young person or family to put their step on to the first rung of the farming ladder. Both the farm and house are ready for the new tenant to walk into.
“Your application needs to have a robust and sustainable business plan and be able to stand up to scrutiny.”
All tender forms and applications are to be submitted to the Carlisle office of H&H Land and Property by 12pm on Wednesday 2 May.
Interviews will take place the week commencing 7 May. The tenancy will begin on 1 June 2018.
