The struggles faced by young people trying to get into farming will be aired this Sunday on BBC1’s Countryfile.
The TV show will profile Gareth Barlow, a 19-year-old from North Yorkshire, who bought his first sheep when he was 16.
He is determined to run his own business but, not coming from a farming backgroung, is facing big hurdles.
He now runs a small flock of Hebridean sheep, plus works part-time in a butcher shop and hopes to start studying part-time at a local agricultural college this autumn.
You can see Gareth on Countryfile which starts at 7pm on Sunday (April 18).
