Cirencester livestock market open soon

Cirencester’s new livestock market will open for business on 1 November, auctioneer Voyce Pullin has announced.

The market, off the A419 south of the town, replaces the old town-centre site, closed in 2004 for redevelopment as a leisure centre.

Farmers in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire have also lost Chippenham market in recent months, and Premier Livestock Auctions has ceased trading at Bristol Sales Centre.

The auctioneers are holding an open day at the new mart on Sunday, 23 October and two weekly trading days are planned for Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Auctioneer Chris Voyce said:

“The new site is in easy reach of the M4 and M5 motorways and we are very excited at the prospect of the market opening.”
