Tenants urged to share concerns about post-BPS funding

Tenant farmers have an opportunity to voice their concerns on accessing post-Basic Payment Scheme funding in England.

A survey has been launched to gauge issues that tenant farmers may have with Environmental Land Management (ELM) and other Defra schemes.

The survey is part of the work of the Tenancy Working Group (TWG), which Defra secretary George Eustice convened earlier this year to provide independent advice to his department about ensuring the ELM scheme works for tenants.

The Tenant Farmers Association (TFA) is urging tenants to participate in the survey.

“This is a great opportunity to share your thoughts with the TWG,’’ says TFA chief executive George Dunn.

“By uncovering the factors facing the tenanted sector, the TWG will be better able to target its recommendations on how to improve schemes for tenant farmers.’’

Tenant farmers can take part in the survey on Defra’s website.
