ABP buys lamb processor Janan Meat
ABP Food Group has bought West Midlands meat processor Janan Meat, a significant halal lamb and mutton business.
Founded in 1992, Janan had a turnover of £56.9m in the year to 31 March 2020, up from £51.6m the previous year.

The 2020 accounts show a pre-tax loss of £696,000, compared with a £1.1m loss the year before. It handles British lamb for domestic and international markets and employs 160 staff.
As well as supplying customers across the UK, Janan exports to the EU, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Middle East and beyond.
ABP has two other lamb processing sites in the UK, in Lurgan, County Armagh, and Yetminster, Dorset.
It also has two lamb sites in Ireland, one in Belgium and another as part of a joint venture arrangement in Northern Ireland with co-op Fane Valley.
