Ammonium nitrate price falls by £125/t
CF Fertilisers has reduced its ammonium nitrate (AN) price by £125/t for April, putting product on to farm at about £790/t for full loads.
Availability is reportedly good, and with the requirements for arable areas more or less covered now, traders see this as an attempt to bring in orders from grassland regions, where recent prices of £900-plus a tonne have been too high for many farmers to book in product.

At the Oxfordshire-based Orion buying group, general manager John Norton said there was some imported material on offer. This had come down in line with UK manufactured product, to sit at about £10/t under the UK-made AN price.
Urea for the new season is in the region of £900/t, but Mr Norton saw this as a falsely inflated price.
