The estate is located 18 miles south of Edinburgh on the edge of the Pentland Hills. About 2,572 acres is hill ground, which qualifies for LFASS (less favoured area support scheme), but there are 212 acres of good permanent pasture and 104 acres of woodland.

A further 4,095 acres of grouse moor is leased, with the agreement running until October 2022.
The estate currently supports 492 ewes, 130 hoggs and eight tups. A key focus of the farm has been to contain the sheep tick population and as a result, the moor is believed to be currently tick-free.
Farm buildings include a four-bay steel portal frame shed (21.8m x 7.7m) erected in 2010, a feed tower, portable cold store, sheep handling facilities and a three-bay steel portal frame shed. There are also two houses and two cottages.
Evelyn Channing, agent at Savills, says she anticipates strong interest from the farming community.
“Historically, places such as North Slipperfield have appealed to arable farmers who run some form of livestock enterprise, or who are keen on the mixed bag of sport that is on offer.
North Slipperfield is highly accessible and therefore will also appeal to livestock farmers in the Lothians and Borders looking for additional acres.”
The estate is for sale as a whole at offers of over £2.4m. (Savills 01312 473 720)
