BPC chief executive Peter Bradnock to retire

The British Poultry Council has appointed Andrew Large (pictured below) as its next chief executive, to replace Peter Bradnock, who will be retiring this summer after more than 20 years’ service.

Mr Bradnock joined the BPC as an executive director in 1991 from a background in the New Zealand civil service, and was appointed chief executive in May 1993. He was named Poultry Person of the Year at the Egg and Poultry Industry Conference in November 2012.

BPC chairman John Reed said that Mr Bradnock’s contribution to the poultry industry had been “outstanding” and, under his leadership, the BPC had “made its positions front-and-centre at all times and became a strong partner for ministers, government agencies and the agri-food industry”.

“The poultry sector is very grateful for his years of service,” he added.

Andrew-LargeMr Large, who will join the BPC in the summer, has been chief executive of the Cleaning and Support Services Association since 2006. He has worked in the civil service, and for Corus and BOC Group, as well as the Federation of Master Builders.
