Polaris launches mid-sized Ranger utility vehicle
The latest Polaris Ranger 800 farm buggy has a smaller chassis than on full-size Rangers, which the manufacturer claims makes it easier to manoeuvre, park and store.
An 800cc injected petrol engine delivers 50hp and 566kg of towing capacity plus a top speed of 55mph.
Ground clearance is 250mm and users can stiffen the suspension for heavy loads. On-demand four-week drive engages all four wheels when you need more forward traction and reverts to two-wheel drive when you don’t.
A dump box with Polaris’s Lock and Ride cargo system is fitted, as is a speedo and electronic fuel gauge.
Handling is nicely predictable with this midsize chassis, says the company, and the lighter overall vehicle weight should make it easier to negotiate rough terrain.
