AHDB wants farmers to join sector boards

The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is recruiting 22 producers, processors and independents across their sector boards to replace outgoing members.
The role of board members is to shape strategy and ensure their sector board serves the interests of its producers and processors.
The levy board is looking for English pig producers for the BPEX board, English beef or sheep producers and an independent for EBLEX. It also wants growers and independents for the Horticultural Development Company, cereal growers, processors and an independent to join HGCA. Potato growers and an independent are needed for the Potato Council board.
Members are appointed for a three-year term starting in April 2014 and will need to work about two days a month, including attending board meetings. Pay is ÂŁ256.25 a day plus expenses.
