MEPs to vote on CAP amendments
MEPs are set to vote on more than 300 amendments to CAP reform proposals.
An extraordinary meeting of the European Parliament Agriculture Committee (Comagri) will take place in Strasbourg on Monday (11 March).
The vote aims to whittle down some 330 amendments before a plenary vote, which is due to take place on Wednesday (13 March).
European Parliament rules mean when there are more than 50 amendments, only those that receive at least one-tenth of the committee members’ vote shall be admitted to plenary vote.
Some 100 amendments were tabled on direct payments, 160 on the single CMO regulation, 35 on rural development and 25 on CAP financing, management and monitoring.
