Photos: The faces of harvest
Harvest is a time of long hours and hard work. It can be frustrating and it can be satisfying.
It’s a time, too, when individuals go the extra mile and families pull together.
Here are a few of your pictures in our Harvest Highlights gallery showing just a few the people who make the job happen.

Rob Boole and Teasel reaping the rewards of their first FBT harvest. “Let’s hope that the wheat price now magically sky rockets,” says Charlotte Sealy, who sent us the picture from north Wiltshire.
These boots are made for baling… Farmer’s daughter Emily Richardson from Scawby in north Lincolnshire took the photo of her boots while on her lunch break.
Keeping Phil Andreozzi company in his tractor cab is Liz and their two boys, Tom and Archie, after a picnic lunch. Phil was discing pea stubble at Old Farm, Idsworth, Hampshire.
So many of them we couldn’t fit them all in one shot!
Sarah Dally shared this picture. Harvesting JB Diego wheat at 12.5% moisture and averaging 9.6t/ha near Loughborough in Leicestershire. “Charles goes out to say goodnight to daddy on the combine every night and delivers a care package, too!” says Sarah.
Three generations of the Powell family stood next to the last load of hay of 2014. “My grandfather, who has been in agriculture for over 70 years, worked alongside me and my father to ensure we beat the approaching bad weather,” says Sam Powell.
