Feed wheat prices on London’s NYSE Euronext exchange have reached £200/t for March contracts, after days of hovering near the threshold.

A slightly weaker sterling had helped trade, coupled with buying activity in the Middle East and North Africa.

Both March and May 2011 contracts had traded at £200/t on Thursday, Dec 23, albeit in small numbers.

Traders were quoting January ex-farm prices in central and eastern England from £192-194/t.

Futures prices for Novermber 2011 contracts have edged further upwards to £165/t.
