Pictures: The two extremes of harvest

Upload image to Harvest Highlights

One of the most fascinating things about the Harvest Highlights picture gallery (click link to view all 900 pictures) is that it shows while things can be going well on one farm, it can be a nightmare on another.

Two pictures have been submitted today which demonstrate this perfectly.

The first is from Bill Browning and shows George and Mark from J & J Kelly cutting Quench spring barley at Up Somborne, Hampshire on 18 August.

The second is from agronomist Richard Bray and was taken on 19 August at Johnstonebridge, Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire.

A total of 3.5 inches of rain in 48 hours had left three combines awash.

There are hundreds more pictures (many of which have been added today) on the full Harvest Highlights gallery.

If you have a picture you would like to share then either add it direct to the gallery or email it to us with an explanation of when and where it was taken etc.
