Kings offers conservation advice and game cover crops
Cereals exhibitor 2009
Innovative conservation ideas are promised at the Kings Game Cover and Conservation Crops stand.
As well as seasonal wildlife crops specially grown for the occasion by Kings, the Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust staff will be on the stand offering advice and tips on the best ways to boost wildlife on farmland for declining species such as grey partridge and other farmland birds.
The Kings display will focus on demonstrating conservation techniques during the four seasons with crop plots showing what can be achieved in each to optimise wildlife populations.
The GWCT promises a new report aiming to highlight many of the research projects at the Trust’s Allerton Project farm at Loddington in Leicestershire. It will show how traditional game management skills carried out by the gamekeeper benefited not just wild game but many other species of farmland wildlife, especially song birds and brown hares.
