Suffolk farmers Peter and Richard Maddever started their earliest ever barley harvest on 29 June at Scott’s Farm, Cavendish.

The crop of Electrum winter malting barley came off the field at 15%. 

Richard Maddever politely declined to talk about yield, saying he was “quietly pleased”, but didn’t want to tempt fate because the next field might not be as good.
