Video: Growers warn of threat to crop protection toolbox

A quarter of the crop protection toolbox in Europe could be withdrawn from the market by 2018 amid pressure from anti-pesticide campaigners and green lobbyists, according to the NFU.

Farm leaders are urging growers to explain to the public why the loss of key crop protection actives, such as glyphosate and diquat, would trigger a hammer blow to the economics of the UK arable sector and domestic food production.

At the Cereals event on Wednesday (15 June), Farmers Weekly asked growers to identify the active substances they most feared losing and the impact it would have on how they farm.
