Bedfordshire contractor and Farmer Focus writer Matt Redman has claimed this year’s Syngenta Farm Sprayer Operator of the year title, announced at the Cereals event.

Judges were impressed with his efficient and safe operation, including a self-built induction hopper with two extra rinse nozzles and a system to ensure tough-to-spot nozzle blockages behind the tank are picked up at the nearest opportunity.

He received his prize from Syngenta’s head of territory for Northern Europe James Barkhouse.
