AI system aims to predict key farm data from yields to pest threat

UK researchers are using artificial intelligence to digitally simulate farms and accurately predict parameters such as output, nutrient losses and pest attacks.
Rothamsted Research is making significant advances with its high-tech computer modelling system that mirrors real-time farming operations, creating what is known as a “digital twin”.
The pilot study is taking place at the North Wyke Farm Platform in Devon.
The Future of Food and Agriculture: Feeding the world sustainably
Rothamsted Research took part in the Future of Food and Agriculture exhibit at New Scientist Live (12-14 October) in London.
Farmers Weekly worked with the following partners to showcase the career opportunities in our dynamic, cutting-edge industry to more than 25,000 non-farming event visitors interested in science and technology.
