ABN launches pig and poultry marketing award

Feed supplier ABN is offering £1000 in prize money for the winner of a new competition aimed at developing marketing ideas for pig and poultry products.

The ABN Innovation Award is to be presented on the second day (12 May) of this year’s RASE/ABN British Pig and Poultry Fair at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

“The award provides a new and unique opportunity for young people from both outside and within the industry to put forward an exciting and innovative marketing concept for British pig or poultry food products,” explained ABN’s commercial services director Angela Booth.

“It’s a great opportunity for the next generation to put forward their ideas and take part in this prestigious national award.

“We are looking for fresh ideas that could add value to our industry. This award is open to anyone with an exciting idea for marketing British pig or poultry food products to consumers and strengthening our industry.”

Entrants to the competition, aimed at the under-35s, are asked to submit an innovative and creative concept in any format receivable by post or e-mail by 9 April.

Entries will be reviewed by the judging panel and successful finalists will be invited to attend the Fair on 11 May to present their concept to a panel of judges. The winner will be announced the following day in a presentation at the Fair.

“It is very important that we encourage the next generation to fully engage with both the pig and poultry sectors and for this reason we have welcomed the new award from ABN as an integral part of the British Pig & Poultry Fair,” says RASE event director Alice Bell.

“We are inviting entries from colleges and universities as well as organisations with young members to ensure we have a wide and varied entry for this new award.”
