Kockerling Boxer seed hopper on show at Agromek
Köckerling’s £20, 3000 Boxer twin-hopper system, designed to slot between a tractor and semi-mounted cultivator, went on display at the Agromek show.
The Boxer attaches to the tractor’s three-point linkage and has lower link arms at the back which can be used to couple to any semi-mounted cultivator (not necessarily a Köckerling product).
Each 1,450kg hopper has its own Köckerling-made, fertiliser-proof metering system so farmers can use it to sow seed and fertiliser together. Both metering systems are controlled on a single control box in the cab. According to the firm, the Boxer has been developed because of longer dry spells in eastern Europe where fertiliser can be left on the soil surface waiting for rain for several months.
According to Köckerling, fertiliser savings can be as high as 40% by using such a system.
