PHOTOS: Farming in April showers

Tornadoes, torrential rain, thunder and lightening and … drought.


The month of April has had every type of weather conceivable.


Farmer Alan Barrow saw a tornado devastate buildings at his farm near Halstead in Essex and arable farmers are seeing a rise in crop diseases associated with wet and humid conditions.


Although the wettest April in 100 years, the Environment Agency warns that we are still officially in drought, hard to believe when you see the pictures of water-logged fields.
