2 Sisters’ Eye slaughterhouse to be run by halal firm
Library image © GUTNER/SIPA/Rex Shutterstock A halal poultry specialist is to take over the running of 2 Sisters’ Eye slaughterhouse, it has been confirmed.
One Stop Halal, which closed a slaughterhouse in Scotland in May, will take over the plant and its employees from next month.
It has already taken over the running of 2 Sisters’ Haughley Park facility in Suffolk, which produces cooked poultry products.

Under government regulation, staff at the plant will be transferred to the new company, retaining the existing terms of their contracts.
The transfer is set to be completed by 5 July.
A 2 Sisters spokesperson said: “Following a strategic review of our poultry processing manufacturing footprint in the UK, the business can announce that it is proposing a transfer of the operations at its site in Eye, Suffolk to another party.
“Existing employees at the site will be Tupe-transferred to this new business in due course.
“We will, of course, maintain a regular dialogue with all our colleagues to inform them of the handover process and timescales.”
The company is owned by a consortium of investors that includes 2 Sisters’ chief executive Ranjit Singh. It was formed in December 2013, having bought the recently closed plant in Letham, Scotland.
