Survey highlights best places to study agriculture
Harper Adams University and Berkshire College of Agriculture have gained top scores in a national survey of student satisfaction.
Aberyswyth University, which has a highly regarded department offering agricultural courses, was also voted one of the best places to study in the country.
The National Student Survey asked students to rate their colleges based on the standard of teaching, academic support, management, organisation and the learning resources available.

Berkshire College of Agriculture was one of four further education colleges to be scored 100% by its students.

Harper Adams University in Shropshire had the second highest score of any UK public university – at 92% – and was in joint seventh place of all higher education institutions.
Aberyswyth University also scored 92% – six percentage points higher than the overall UK figure of 86%
Vice-chancellor of Harper Adams David Llewellyn said: “We are delighted with this outcome.
“Students are the heart of everything we do so it’s fantastic to know that such a high proportion are leaving Harper Adams satisfied with their experiences here.
“We also recognise that we operate in a competitive environment and that we still have more to do.
“We will be continuing to focus on the quality of teaching and learning at Harper Adams, which is expected to play a stronger role in next year’s student survey and the Teaching Excellence Framework planned by the UK government.”
John Grattan, acting vice-chancellor at Aberystwyth University, said: “The student experience has always been at the heart of everything we do here at Aberystwyth University and these results show how much effort goes into making sure that the experience they have is first-rate.”
