Pensioner dies after tractor-trailer collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly pensioner died following a collision with a tractor trailer.
The 79-year-old man was involved in a collision with the tractor trailer in Birch, near Colchester, Essex, on Sunday morning (5 July).
The John Deere tractor and trailer were travelling towards Wigborough when the trailer became uncoupled from the tractor and collided with the pensioner.

The elderly pedestrian, who lives locally, was walking along Birch Street when he was hit by the trailer. He died at the scene from his injuries.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Essex Police are investigating along with the Health and Safety Executive.
