Vicon’s non-stop baler-wrapper now comes in Kubota colours

As Kubota’s distribution network in Britain continues to grow, so the number of products available to those dealers from the Kverneland Group sister company is increasing.

Among the latest is the non-stop FB1000 baler/wrapper that rolls round bales up to 1.25m diameter and discharges them encased in several layers of stretch film without slowing or stopping at any stage.

Previously available only through the Vicon network, the machine takes in grass using a 2m-wide pick-up with dual cam tracks and then an 800mm diameter intake rotor that works with six, 12, 13 or 25 spring-loaded knives to slice the material into shorter lengths.

A drop-floor mechanism is standard to help guard against the intake area becoming plugged.

Two bale-forming chambers in a “Siamese” configuration share a number of rollers, which keeps the machine relatively compact.

The front chamber builds two-thirds of a bale and when it has reached its pre-set density, the crop flow is diverted and the juvenile bale transferred to the second chamber where it is grown to full size.

With the swath now flowing into the front chamber once again, net is applied to the completed bale before it is released on to the wrapping platform where twin orbital arms operating in the vertical plane apply stretch film.

Isobus electronics enable the FB1000 to work through any virtual terminal, including Kverneland Group’s IsoMatch Tellus Pro display, for fully automatic operation with manual overrides available when needed.

List price is £140,247.
