Dickies Workwear gets winding-up order from parent company
A clothing and footwear name synonymous with those working in outdoor environments will no longer exist after being canned by its corporate American owner.
Dickies Workwear has been a mainstay in agriculture since 1900, when it started life as Clares before being brought by Texas-based Williamson-Dickie in the 1980s. The workwear brand’s offering includes waterproof winter clothing, reflective and high-visibility garments, shoes and hats.
However, current US parent company, VF Corporation, based in Denver, Colorado, undertook a review of the setup and decided the workwear arm’s business model was out of line with its financial expectations, however, it will continue to sell the Dickies Streetwear line.
