Opico replaces Maschio kit with Ovlac and Alpego machinery

Leading independent farm machinery importer Opico has made up for the loss of Maschio-Gaspardo from among its suppliers by securing the distribution rights to Ovlac and Alpego equipment.

Spanish manufacturer Ovlac specialises in traditional and shallow-working ploughs but also produces tine and disc cultivators.

Alpego builds piggy-back seed drills and front hoppers for the power harrows and rotary tillers it assembles in Italy alongside cultivators and flail mowers.

Both companies already trade in Britain with their own teams and through separate dealer networks; partnering with Opico promises improved technical and parts support, the potential for dealer signings where the marques are not represented, and a higher profile in the market.

Opico will first present the new partnerships at the Cereals Event and the Royal Highland Show in June, followed by the Royal Welsh Show in July.

Italian manufacturing group Maschio-Gaspardo has set up its own import operation and now offers a much broader range of tillage, crop care and grassland equipment than before.
