Kuhn expands Sitera power harrow-mounted drill range

A further option in Kuhn’s already comprehensive range of Sitera mechanical “piggy-back” seed drills is the new 3m 100 series.

It comes with a 600-litre full-width seed box and a choice of three different coulters.

Carried on the packer of Kuhn’s HRB 302, HRB 303, HR 304 and HR 3004 power harrows, the Sitera newcomer sits beneath the current 3m 3000 series with its 800-litre hopper and compatibility with HR 3020, HR 3030 and HR 3040 power harrows, and the CD 3020 short disc cultivator.

Both drill series share the same coulter choice of traditional Suffolk and single-disc mounted on trailing arms, and the Seedflex double-disc setup. This has opener discs, seed boot and rubber press wheels carried on parallel linkage for consistent performance.

All three variants can be had in 24-row 125mm and 20-row 150mm configurations.

The helical metering rollers for each row can be driven either mechanically by a land wheel or by an electric motor.

The latter provides push-button automatic calibration, manual rate adjustment from the tractor cab, and automatic rate changes are triggered by GPS and a prescription map.

Auto seed on/off for headland turns are also available with this option.

Prices start at £17,135 for the Sitera 320 M (mechanical drive) with 150mm row spacing, while the Sitera 320 E (electric drive) on 125mm rows is £20,565.
