‘Matchmaking’ service connects farmers with lambing students
© Tim Scrivener The National Sheep Association (NSA) Lambing List 2017-18 is now open.
The list connects sheep farmers who need assistance at lambing time with agricultural and veterinary students looking for work experience as part of their studies.

It gives details of NSA members who want help at lambing so students can approach them directly to ask for a placement.
Adverts are split into regions to highlight positions available in different parts of the country and overseas.
Hannah Park, NSA communications officer, said: “The NSA Lambing List is hugely valued by both the sheep farmers and students who use it.
“Year on year the popularity of the service is growing and it always pleasing getting such a fantastic uptake.”
Farmers who want to advertise on the list must be NSA members and are required to complete a short application form with the following information:
- Brief details of their lambing system
- The experience and position they can offer
- Details of any accommodation, meals and any other useful information
Adverts are listed in the order they are submitted, so members are encouraged to get adverts in as early as possible.
The NSA has also created a webpage with guidance for students looking for work experience via the list.
