Five Mother’s Day gifts for farming mums

Mother’s Day (15 March) is fast approaching so we have saved you the trouble of trawling the internet for the perfect gift for your farming mum.

Along with a little help from our Twitter followers, we have picked out five potential presents for your nearest and dearest.

1. Give flowers, but British ones

Postal flowers from Cornwall are sent from a family nursery in the Tamar Valley and are “expertly presented with ribbon, flowers food and personal message in a smart presentation box”.

The Great British Florist is an award-winning floristry on a farm, part of The Duchy Estate in Herefordshire. They grow their own flowers on the farm and use a network of specialist British Producers throughout the UK.

2. What about a tweedy gift for the home?

Pink Hannah hand crafts some beautiful fabric silhouettes of farm-themed animals and items, which come in lots of printed fabrics including tweed.

There are pheasants, owls, sheep, cows, dogs, deer and wellies to name a few. There are plenty of girly gifts on her website, so it’s worth a look if you’re looking for an everlasting present.

3. Treat her to some bubbles with an English sparkling wine

The Ridgeview Estate produce some top-quality sparkling wines. It’s a family-run business in the South Downs of England.

4. Pampering products

Smelly treats never go amiss and this hand cream, by Welsh Lavender, is made with lavender oil distilled high in the hills of mid-Wales and it was “inspired by the labours of Welsh hill farmers”. There is also a matching lip balm.

5. Make her laugh
