Britain’s Sexiest Farmer 2015: Who, what, where, when, why and how?

Here’s everything you need to know about the competition, including why we’re doing it, what the prize is and, most importantly, how to enter.

What is it and why are we doing it?
A nationwide competition to find Britain’s Sexiest Farmers. One male and one female who make farming look less frumpy and flatcap and a bit more… sexy
We want to have a bit of fun – there’s enough bad news around, after all. And we also want to get more people talking about British farming and food.

So… what do we mean by “sexy”?
You tell us. It could be old-fashioned good looks, a kind nature, a wicked sense of humour, a hard-working nature, an affinity with the land, a way with livestock, devotion to the family, command of the tractor cab… the list is endless.

The prize
The two winners will get two fantastic pairs of bespoke wellies and a prize pack worth £100 from the competition sponsor – The Original Muck Boot Company. We’ll also profile the two winners in Farmers Weekly. All 10 shortlisted finalists will receive a pair of Muck Boots. Oh, and pub bragging rights for a year!

Who can enter?
You can nominate yourself or someone you know, and the gateposts to the competition are wide. There’s no age limit, but the person must live and work in the UK and have a strong connection to farming and the countryside.

How is it judged?
Our celebrity judge, how-to-look-good guru Gok Wan, will be helping us pick the shortlist of 10 finalists. Then we’ll open it up to a public vote on our website, so Farmers Weekly readers will get to decide our two overall winners.

When
You’ve got until 31 December to make your nominations. But get them into our gallery sooner rather than later so you can gather some fans for when it comes to the public vote.
