Croatia to build combines
DEUTZ-FAHR 56 Series combine harvesters – the largest machines the company manufactures – are to be produced at a plant in Croatia the company has purchased.
Last year, the factory at Duro Dacovic was used to assemble a batch of 5670, 5680 and 5790 combines following the downsizing of Randers, Agco’s combine production plant in Denmark.
The establishment of the Croatian plant will be welcomed by Deutz which saw the manufacture of its combines move from its original Lauingen site in Germany to Randers in 2000 following a joint venture agreement with Agco.
Since 2003, the company’s smaller combines have been built by Sampo in Finland and this agreement is to remain in place, despite the Croatian plant purchase.
For the UK, Same Deutz-Fahr says it will continue to market an annual complement of 20 or so combines through a number of its main dealers.
