Reports of winter barley being cut have been gathering pace this week as harvest 2013 kicked off in earnest and initial yields and quality look promising.

Oilseed rape and wheat crop progress remains behind, with many rape crops only just being readied for harvest by desiccation or swathing, so the waiting game continues.
