TV show following lambing to run for next five days

A TV show which will follow lambing on a 900-ewe farm in South Wales starts on Sunday (7 March).

Lambing Live, fronted by Kate Humble, will be screened on BB2 at 8pm.

The show is aiming to capture “the life and death drama as it unfolds” on the farm.

There will also be segments which examine the wider issues facing sheep farmers in the UK today.

Farmer Adam Henson, who also features on the BBC’s Countryfile, will be looking at the story of sheep farming in Britain past and present.

The show is due to run for five consecutive nights to give viewers a glimpse into the reality of the lambing season.

The farm on which it is being filmed is in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons near Abergavenny and is run by the Beavan family which spans three generations.

The family run two farms as one business, Great Tre-Rhew and Skirrid farm. Lambing Live will broadcast live from Great Tre-Rhew. This is where Jim and Kate Beavan live, along with Jim’s parents Anne and Trevor.

Jim is responsible for the day-to-day running of this farm, and he has taken on the lion’s share of training Kate Humble to be able to assist with lambing, along with his wife, Kate.
